Mr. McGowan is an experienced litigator representing individuals, municipalities, corporations, and other business entities at all stages of litigation in New York and federal courts. Mr. McGowan is also experienced in negotiation and dispute resolution through pre-action settlement, mediation, and arbitration.

Public Sector Labor Law

Mr. McGowan proudly serves as labor counsel to several Hudson Valley police unions providing legal representation and advocacy during contract negotiations, mediation, arbitration, PERB proceedings, contract grievances, and disciplinary proceedings.

Transactional Matters: Real Estate and Trusts and Estates

Mr. McGowan also provides consulting and estate planning services to clients, including will drafting and other estate planning documents (i.e., trusts, power of attorney, living wills, etc.).

Criminal Defense

Mr. McGowan focuses his criminal defense practice on DWI and vehicular offenses as well as general crimes (i.e., petit and grand larceny, criminal mischief, assault, etc.).

General Counsel Services

Mr. McGowan serves as general counsel to several local businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
